What is the role of the brain in reflex action?

There is no direct role of the brain in reflex action. However, reflex action is controlled by Spinal Cord which quickly receive the sensory signal and send a response to the muscles.

This allowed to react the body quickly without waiting for instruction from the brain.

However, brain is informed for the action afterward.
