Why is respiration considered to be an exothermic reaction

Those chemical reactions in which a large amount of heat is produced with by product is called exothermic reactions.

Respiration is considered an exothermic reaction because the energy (glucose)is released in the form of heat during a chemical reaction . During respiration process, glucose reacts with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide, water, and a large amount of heat. So, we can say that respiration is an exothermic reaction

Respiration is an exothermic reaction because it releases a lot of energy during the reaction. Firstly we eat food like rice, bread, etc., that contains carbohydrates which are decomposed into a simpler substance called glucose which further reacts with oxygen that present in our body to give carbon dioxide, water, and a large amount of heat or energy.

This energy or hear is utilized by our cells for performing various functions like growth, movement, reproduction, repair of tissues, and maintaining overall body temperature so we can say that respiration is considered an exothermic reaction.
